The first trial flight over Lon-1 don of the new Scotland Yard Au- togiro took place yesterday to test the value of the observations which can be made from such a machine for traffic control and other police work.
Assistant Commissioner Tripp, who is in charge of the traffic section of Scotland Yard, was in the Autogiro. and. after the flight, he expressed the opinion! that there were great possibill-; ties for traffic regulation from the air, the value of which had} already been proved in connec« tion with isolated problems, such a the Derby Day congestion.

Smith, of the Eastern Mercantile and Construction Company, who have had in hand the contract for the construction of the tunnel and a section of the necessary channels of the catchwater scheme.
