The Macao Subscription Griffins have been the cause of disappoint- ments. Eight of the 33 ordered were suffering from eye trouble when in Shanghai and were consequently not sent to the Colony. On their arrival here another pony--No. 11- failed the riding test. He is the the only one of the 25 in the Colony at the moment, the others having been shipped to the Portugese colony.
