RICKETTS FOR SWATOW

Club Lose Promising Slow Bowler

LEAVING ON WEDNESDAY.

G. R. M. Ricketts, the Oxford soccer Blue and the latest dis- covery of the Hong Kong Crie- ket Club, is leaving for Swatow on Wednesday where he will remain for an indefinite period.,

Ricketts, besides being a soccer- Blue, la a County tennis player and a prominent lacrosse and ice-ho- key player. He was hoping to play for the Club in the Tennis League next summer, and had already been invited to play for Oxford against Cambridge in the local tennis en- counter fixed for January 8. This match has, however, been postpon-; ed indefinitely.

Ricketts has played in three ericket matches since his arrival here less than a month ago and has met with more than average sucress, his figures reading:

A. H. Oswick (Dockyard) de- feated Sgt. Buckle (Royal En. gineers) by 250 points to 175 in the first Round of the Colony Billards Championship at the St. Patrick's Club last night.

Ogwick recorded breaks of 21 on two occasions and Buckle chalked up a 14 on one ; occa-- sion. The game lasted 75 min- utes and Oswick averaged less than four points per vielė to the. table.
