Acting Sub-Inspector H. Waller, whose trial on a charge of receive ing and demanding a bribe resumed before Mr. E. H. Williams, District Officer, at the Taipo Magistracy, was committed for trial at the Criminal Sessions, after a lengthy hearing yesterday.
Mr. Williams, in committing the defondant, stated that it was a case; for a jury to decide. The summary hearing of the case finished at p.m. yesterday, and the defendont was allowed to retain his liberty on $500 bail as before.
