He should make Mr. Frost's second winner of the day, Wild Life, if he does not start in the "A" class ponies race will start here, while Blue Star will also line up." The latter pony may be ridden by either Mr. Butler or Mr. Caplan.
Giraffe Fancled.
The Australian ponies' St. Leger will indeed be a race worth watch- ing, and bide fair to be one of the finest races of the season, and cer- tainly the beat race of the day. The Giraffe, who will be ridden by Mr.
Frost, should win. But there are other ponies who have excellent chances. One of them is Polar Star, with Mr. Butler up, and an- other is Friar Tuck-with Mr. F. M. L. Soares in the saddle.
The Giraffe has been improving by leaps and bounds recently and he has developed splendidly since he was taken to Mr. E. L. Hosie's
stable. It is no exaggeration to say
that he is the test of this assson's Australian ponies: Other starters will be Lucy Glitters (Mr. Tux- ford). But After That (Mr. Har riman) and Tin Tac, but the last ramed has little chance.
Racing Boy to Fore.
The Sub-Gring St. Leger should add further to the champion joc- key's record and bring easy money to Mr. H. S. Chan's stable through." the medium of Racing-Boy. Bistre and Cy-pres, both of whom will be ridden by Chinese jockeys, can be depended upon to give their sup porters a good run for their money. There will be only one place pony paid, however, as only five or six starters are anticipated.
Novice's Race.
We shall have the novice riders out in full force in the Shum Chun Handicap. "C" Class, and while I confidently expect Ajax to romp home the winner, it will not be sur- prising to see Workable Stag and Indiana well to the fore. Mr. R.. A. Carroll will be riding Ajax, which should be the favourite, but... it is just possible that the riding skill of Mr. J. E. Noronha will bring. Indiana through. You never can tell in a novice race, where jockeyship counts, a great deal. Mr. Tuxford will ride the Stag pony. Mon Tal- Ísmar hajben entered, but carries top weight of 158 lbs, which I think will slow him down considerably. Adam May Do It.
Mr. Carroll Is again mounted on ny potential winner in the "E" Class race, the Fanling. Handicap. He will ride Whoopee, who is one of the best ponies in that class. Tien
watch,' Feng Shan, who is a pony.
will also be in the race, and may be ridden by Mr. Frost. Valeta hau a good chance.
There will be a big field of me- Talpo dium class ponies in the Handicap. "D" Class; and I think Adam should do it again. There is aomo doubt yet as to who will ride him, but it will probably be Mr. Frost or Mr.. Butler. Ventur- ous will be dangerous, ridden by Mr. Butler. Venturous will bo dan- gerous ridden by Mr. 8. Y Liang. and I expect Mr. Tony" Botelba to be among the first three on King's Parade.
