Jointly they went into the hotel business in 1925., and, with a capital of $20,000 commenced the Hotel ¡Metropole. Business from this source was crisp for the first two years, but following a boycott in Hong-Kong there was no communi- 'cation with 'Canton from where and most of their guests came, their business suffered. The capital of $20,000 was obtained by loan from the Asin Bank Corporation and later from the Netherlands Indische Bank.
