Shanghai, Saturday.

China will be linked directly with North and South America and with Europe by radio telephone communications which will be built immediately, following the completion of a contract between the China Electric Company and the Ministry of Communications. This contract will enable the company to start work on the plants wilch are necessary to make the long-distance radio conver- sations possible. The new system of communication, in turn, wil enable every telephone subscriber in Shanghai, and ultimately every. subscriber in the cities of China, to converse with any of more than 32,000,000 persons on the three western continents.
