In a howling gale recently Cap- tain McKay and four officers of the British

Prince steamer

David, which struck a reef-near Bermuda, were rescued from the doomed ship. The passengers and crew had already been taken off safely. The Prince David was already half-full of water when the gale aprang up, but Captain McKay and the

remained four officers board.

It was known on shole that the ship was sinking, and a motor. boat, with Captain Porka and Pilot Green on board, set out on the seemingly impossible task of ren- cuing the five men from the reef. For seven hours the motor-boat battled, but her crew their task.
