He has been with the· Cunard

Line for thirty-five years, and was the chief officer of the Mauretania on her frst voyage. He has served in most of the famous vessels of the Cunard Flest.

Capt. Diggle, who succeeded Capt. Sir Arthur Rostron to the com- modoreship early in June, was, pre- sented by the passengers, who ac- companied him on his last voyage in command, with a silver salver. It was handed to him by Sir Ronald Lindsay, British Ambas- sador to the United States.

In an interview, Capt. Diggle smilingly said: "Now I am going to devote a little time to improving my game of golf."

FOUR MEN PICKED UP.

Marooned Two Years On

Island.

After being exiled for two years on Campbell Island, in the South Pacific, four men have been picked up by a steamer and brought back to New Zealand.

Last November "their flour and other provisions became, exhausted. Their diet since then has been fish, with meat only occasionally.

The marooned men are somewhat

weakened by their experiences.

Campbell Island, which is normal- ly uninhabited, is about 150 miles S.E. of South Island, New Zealand. It is about thirty miles across.
