TEN REASONS FOR THE SUPERIORITY

OF RAYMOND PILES OVER WOOD PILES.

1. They are permanent,

2. They are not subject to decay or to the attacks of wood

borers.

3. They are not affected by any change in water level.

4. They are economical because of double carrying

capacity.

5. Excavation work is reduced to a minimum" and form work for footings is frequently eliminated.,

Only light concrete footings are required since pile tops can be carried to ground level and piles driven at close centres, if necessary.

Total load is reduced owing to the decreased size and weight of footings.

Shoring and pumping eliminated.

TEN REASONS FOR SUPERIORITY OF RAYMOND PILES OVER OTHER TYPES OF CONCRETE PILES.

1. They are tapered.

operations.

4. Form in which each pile is cast may be inspected from

tip to top.

5. Obstructions displaced during driving cannot be forced

back into the concrete by back pressure.
