The highest levels recorded are:-Shiuhlog, 41 feet; Tsing- yuen, 29.2 feet; Samahut, 27.3 feet; Sheklung, 11.5 feet.
The lowest levels, on record Ariminua 5 feet at Samshul and minium 2.9 fost at Sheklung.

Police Boat Helps to Save
Escaping Crew.
Eight men aboard a cargo boat had to abandon their ship after it sank after a collision in the River Thames, off Woolwich.

They took to the boats, and were towed to safety by a river police motor-boat.
The two vessels were the Picardy, owned by the General Steam Navi- 6th Aug. gation Co., laden with cargo, and

The Greek steamer Theodoris Bulgaris with a cargo of Russian wheat valued at nearly £36,000 encountered bad weather in the Bay of Bisuny last September.
