show. that during the quarter ended March 31 last there were posted In the Lass Book as lost six British vessels, of 9,177 tona gross, and 36 foreign vesels, of 81,994 tons gross, These figures compare with Ave Br!- tish vessels, of 7,292 tons; and 33 foreign ship, of 60,985 tons, ao re- |ported lost, during, the first quarter of last year. The Association shows that 26 vennels, of $48,697 tons, were reported as lost in March last, which compares with 15 vessels, of 19,954 tons, in March, 1930, and 22, of 59,928 tons, in March, 1929.
The total number of casualties reported to vasols of all nationali- ties during March last is stated to have been 662, 'In March, 1930, the total was 629, and in March, 1929, it was 915. Only vessels of 500 tons gross and upwards are includ- ed in thèse returns.
