NEW MOTOR VESSEL

Victoria Attains Speed of 231⁄4 Knots.

EGYPT-ITALY RUN. `

Cable advice has been received from Lloyd Triestino that their new mator vessel Victoria has 'undergone official trials, and easily reached the speed of 234 knots, thus beating the world passenger mator ship's record.

The M/V Victoria was con- structed by the Cantiere Navale Triestino for account of the Lloyd Triestino Navigation Co, of Trieste, and will be placed on the Trieste- Alexandria run. Her maiden voy. nge is fixed for June 27, when she will leave Trieste for Alexandria and will sail from the latter port on July 4 on her return voyage to the home port.

The length of the Victoria is 164 metres, breach 20 metres, and depth 12.85 metres, with a dis- placement tonnage of 15,000. This propelling machinery is composed of four motors developing 18,800 H.P.

The passenger accommodation is luxaricus and is arranged to necom. modate with the maximum of com- fort 239 first class, 145 second class, 100 third 'class and 40 fourth class passengers.
