Cup competition since 1927, but it is hoped that a Northern visit will be made this Autumn.

In addressing the meeting he said: "An examination of the In- come and expenditure account for the twelve months ended February 28, 1931, reveals little difference from the comparative figures for the previous twelve months. The balance sheet shows that we have on hand in cash approximately $5,000 which is clear of liabilities. In view, however, of the badly worn condition of the ground has seemed advisable to use the Jockey Club's grant ($1.500) to establish a special reserve for fu- ture repairs and returfing. remaining $3,590, unencumbered, places the Club on a self-support-

ing basis."

The

He thanked Commander Morris for a gift of $250, which was for- warded on behalf of the Royal Naval Recreation Club for the use of the ground for football and hockey during the year 1930.

In deploring the loss of the ist Bn. the Sommerset Light Infantry, Major-General Sandilands paid the South Wales Borderers a fine com- pliment in saying that they have proved worthy successors.

Mr. A. J. P. Heard seconded the adoption of the report and state- ment of accounts, which was Ac- cordingly carried.
