Gravesend, Yesterday. Yorkshire succeeded in defeat- ing Kent by the large margin of Jan innings and 45 runs.

Kent batted first and scored 187. Yorkshire replied with a total of 443, to which Maurice Leyland contributed 112 and Mitchell 101 not out. Requiring 256 to save the innings defeat, Kent compil- ed 211, Bryan being unfortunate in being dismissed when 96.

FAST BOWLERS TROUBLE WORCESTER.

The winners had first use pr the wicket and the features of the innings were the splendid batting of F. Zimmern and the bowling of A. T. Lee Zimmern played a faultless innings of 37 and Lee captured 4 wickets for 41 runs.

After Tunch the opposing side batted, and only a good stand by N. A. E Mackay and E. F. Fincher prevented a total collapse. F. Caveney was the only one to offer any resistance after these two had been dismissed. F. S. W. Smith, with 6 wickets for 15 runs, was chiefly responsible for the inck of enterprise shown by the opposing batsmen.

Nottingham, Yesterday. Worcester suffered a heavy de feat at Nottingham, losing by ten wickets.

Worcester compiled 117 in their first venture, Barrett claiming 6 wickets for 21 runs. Notts fared little better against the bowling of Brooke (5 for 36), and could take a lead of only 16 on the first innings. Worcester collapsed in their second venture before the bowling of Larwood, and were dis- missed for 60 runs. Larwood claimed 8 wickets at a fraction over 4 rung tanh.
