"On June 9, at the office of Mackenzie Messrs. Mackinnon and Co., the following eight cadets, S. N. Roy, S. K. Dutt Kumarhia, Ingat Singh, B. K. Suhgal, K. Lahiri, J. Jacob, A. Chakraverti, and P. N. Kohli, signed indentures for three years as cadets in. the British Indian; Steam Navigation Company. Two joined the steamer Garisoppa immediately, and the remain- der
