One might well be in some old historical inn in Britain and, new as the interior decora- tions are, there is a homeliness about the place which immediately sets one at one's ease. The latest cabinet model gramophone with electrical amplifier will supply well selected programme of music which will be audible in each of the three storeys of the restaurant.
No table d'hote meals will be served, all food being a la carte. Luncheon and dinner parties will be catered for. A parking ground opposite is available for the use of patrons,
The clinic is served by a volun. teer staff of doctors, most faithful of whom is Mr. K. S. Shin, M.B., B.S. The weight charts are kept by the staff of the Y.W.C.A. and Miss Shin, workers; General Secretary, says that the bigest need of the clinic is for a visiting nurag to help educate women GEN-in their own homes, to visit poor ERAL MEETING of Voting mothers who have no time to come Members will be held at the Club to the clinic, and to go out and re- House, Happy Valley, on WED-eruit now patients for the clinic. NESDAY, 4th June, 1930, at 5.80 Such a steady process of education could do much to lift the standard of health of babies in the crowded districts surrounding the Y.W.CA. }
A yearly Baby contest is one of the interesting features of the Baby Welfare Clinic. Held
the in Autumn it attracts many mothers and babies (and their, amahs, be- cause the baby amaks learn as much as the mothers from their visits to the clinic). A week of lectures, demonstration, and examination pre- cedes the awarding of prizes, Cloth- ing, toys, foods, and charts are on display. On the prize giving day lecture is given, summing up the results of the examinations, giving the mothers information on why aome babies are judged high and others law on the health scale.
Among the members of the Y.W.C.A. Board of Directors pre- sent to receive Lady Peel were Mrs. Ma Wing-chan, President, Mrs. Tsa Si-pong, of the Department of Reli-' gious Education, Mrs. Choy Ngal- sing of the Educational Department, Mra Lam Chen-wal, of the Social No. 6 Platoon at Kowloon under benefit at No. 219, Batu Road, says | night.
