ISAACS IN FORM,
The Interport cricket match in Shanghai, owing to unfavourable weather fizzled out in tame fashion. The Hong Kong team were due to Bail to-day, and had no option but to play for a draw.
Shanghai declared their innings closest at 291 for 6 wickets, which total they had reached on the first day. They then concentrated on getting Hong Kong out for a small | total, and, in fact, made a sporting bid for victory, With E. C. Fincher, Zimmern, and Pearce all failing, it was left to More and Ambrion to make stund, and bring Hong Kong's total to 141, which was considerably more than at one time looked likely.
Hong Kong went in for a second time with only 85 minutes to go. and once again made a wretched start, E. C. Fincher, who had a thoroughly unlucky match, being bowled for a "duck." His brother met with simallar fate, and Zimmern followed the example. However, steady batting by Pearce and Mitchell retrieved the situation. and the result was draw. Hong Kong having four wickets down for 55 una in their second venture.
