Welcome, and the Swearing-In ceremony at the Legislative Council Chamber are all specially described, a full list of those present on the stage of the Theatre Royal being included.
The dramatic collapse of the Crown case in an exceed- ingly interesting murder trial is fully reported in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL. Previous to the jury's indica- tion that they were satisfied as to prisoners' innocence on the evidence before them, Counsel for the defence had made startling criticism of the Police methods in the case.
The sensational arrest of a Master Mariner on opium charges, as he was about to leave for Singapore aboard a mail boat, and his subsequent appearance in the Police Court, are also reported in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL.

Bolshevism still has its emissaries in the Colony, and a young Northern Chinese who was caught by the Police in possession of seditious literature received a sharp sentence of nine months' hard labour. The case is given in its en- tirety in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL,
The overloading of steamers continues to attract the attention of the authorities. The Captain of a local steamer put up a spirited defence in answer to the charge, and the Marine Magistrate adjourned the case in order to. Inspect the ship for himself. The OVERLAND CHINA MAIL gives full details of the case.
The visit of the world-famous golfers, Walter. Hagen and Joe Kirkwood, forms the subject of a special interview which appears in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL. Other sports are dealt with by experts, special prominence being given to lawn bowls and tennis, together with up-to-the- minute League tables.
The situation in China, with its kaleidoscople "neces- sions" and "defections," is fully dealt with in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL, which gives the gist of the reports from various sources.
