A record and revised edition of the pamphlet has just been published by John Murray, Albemarle St., W., at the price of sixpence,

The pamphlet explains, in non. technical language, how the malaria

Appeal For Members.

Mr. Hodgson, in thanking the meet- ing for the honour done him in elect- ing him President of the Association, made a strong plea for more members. There were about 2,000 private car owners in the Calony, he said, and every one of them should be a member of the Association. (Applause). The ex- pense of joining was nominal, and as insurance companies gave members a special rebate on premiums, which in most cases covered subscription to the Association, motorists really joined the Association for nothing. He personal- ly intended to make an effort to more than double the membership. (Ap- plause).

The mode of infection and the life; history and habits of anopheles mosqui- toes are next described. It will surprise some people to learn that the anopheles consist of about 120 known species, only some of which carry malaria.

Finally come a few hints as to per-1 senal prevention.
