With the Services recording a victory on Armistice Day the two representative, teams are now on terms for the season.

A Curtain Raiser. Only two junior fixtures were contested. In a tame game Ewo and Eastern shared the spoils in a goal-less draw, but thrills were many in a fast and furious contest between the Somersets and Chin- ese "A" as a curtain raiser to the Sepoy charity match. Tsoi Ping-fan opened the Chinese ac- count after ten minutes and the game player. Increased the lead be- fore the interval. In spite of the "Seta" frantic efforts they could not reduce their arrears and, with the third goal coming from Shek Pui-tim after fifteen minutes of the second half, the Soldiers were a beaten force. Shek Pultim added the fourth to complete the second double of the game, without res- ponse coming from the "Sets."

To-morrow's Fixtures. Three junior games are down for decision to-morrow,

Kowloon are at home to the Club and it is doubtful if the latter side can register their second success of the season in their last game. Kowloon get my vote.

The Somersets were victorious knocking out the "Saints" by 3-0, all through this competition by drawing with the Athletic one all after extra time, being award ed the round through their opponents being unable to field a side in the appointed day, crushing Kowloon (notorious Shield fighters) by 3-0, and after extra time defeating the Navy 2-1 in the final tie. Aragon and Lum in Action.

TO-DAY'S MATCH AT H.K.C.C.

By "Base Line."]

At the Hong Kong Cricket Club yesterday afternoon I wit- nessed as fine a "knock up" na oze could possibly wish for, be- tween Francisco Aragon, Cham- plon of the Philippines, and Gordon Lum, Champion of Shang- hal. An enthusiastic crowd of tennis fans were present at this last practice game before the ex- hibition match this afternoon on the Stand Court.

Both players are of the dash- ing style and a beautiful exhibi- tion of hard hitting was conse- quently provided. Aragon dle- played wonderful precisión and his length was consistent. Lum. on the other hand, was overdriv. ing at times, but from the power that he gets into his forehand drive. It was clearly seen that once he establishes his length he will prove a formidable opponent. There is little 'difference In the pace of the two players' forehand drives; if anything, I think Lum has the advantage.

Aragon's back hand is very strong and his wrist work is ad- mirable. In contrast to many of our local players, champions in- cluded, he takes the ball as ft descends a second time, instead of getting right on top of the ball when it is at his maximum height after the bounce. This difficult- shot he has so mastered that the ball akims the net with quite as much velocity behind it as a ro turn from the higher position. He possesses a spin service of average speed, and perhaps this is the weak link in an otherwise strong chain,

A close match is to be expect- ed with both players indulging in hard hitting, and, whatever the result may be, I am sure that there will not be a great deal to choose between the two eham- pions. It is to be hoped that the match will be well, attended, as

A portion of the gate money is to. be devoted to the Sepoy fund.
