A Naval Conference communique stules that Admiral Wakatsuki announced at a meeting of the heads of the delegations that the Japanese Government's reply on the British, American and Japanese compromise proposals had been re- ceived. Inquest on a Chinese Girl.
At the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday afternoon, Mr. T. 9. Whyte-Smith and a Coroner's jury held an Inquiry into the death of an eight years old Chinese girl who was fatally injured as the result of being knocked down by a motor cycle ridden by Warder J. Me- Cutcheon of the Laichikok Prison, at Castle Peak on February 21.
According to Warder MeCutcheon, when he saw the girl she was well an' the side of the road, so he pro- eeeded to overtake her. As the cycle got abreast with her she sud- denly ran out.. At the time of the accident the cycle was travelling at 25 miles an hour and the girl ran out too quickly for him to do. anything to avoid her. AR
