The junk had a load of steel. joista valued at about $6,000 and had gone into the shelter overnight.
At about two o'clock in the morning, the anchor chain anapped, possibly owing to the strain. Drift- ing helplessly and in danger of collision, the boat was carried against the concrete and granite breakwater.
