TOUCH OF WHITE
REVIVAL OF OLD-FASHIONED LIKING
The revival of the old-fashioned liking for a touch of white at the throat is a very becoming mode which seems likely to stay with us for some time. White 6ttings of all kinds are being mate, and even suits in black and white have lit- tle vests and waistenate of white pique or some other fabric which gives them a fresh clean look. The "Louch of white" falls into two categories. One is severe; the other is Huffy and very becoming to with rather thin

Bustles are Back
Quite a number of gowns in the stiffer materials show a pronounced bustle effect over a dipping skirt. One frock of peach tafferas had this bustle surmounted by an enor- mous taffetas bow!
FRESH FLOWERS
KEEP THEM IN THE ICE CHEST
AT NIGHT
At this time of the year lovers of Bowers are able to fill their houses with beautiful blooms of all kinds, and moreover to secure them at very little expense.
If, however, one does not possess a garden, or yet an unlimited amount of spare money to purchase fresh flowers, it is wise to do all possible to keep the dowers in a fresh condition for as long as you
can.
A tablet of aspirin dissolved in the water in a large vase of flowers will help to prolong their life, while half a tablet is suficient for a small bowl of flowers,
If you are the lucky pos8E380* of a proper refrigerator, place your flowers in it at night and they wil certainly remain fresh for a good space of time; if not, the humble cellar may be utilised to help the blooms retain their freshness,

SLIPS TO-DAY ·
QUITE AS TEMPERAMENTAL AS FASHION
But the slip, this time, is not be- tween the cup and the lip but between the neckline and the hem- line, and it is quite as tempera. mental an affair as fashion itself. And the reason for the many gar- ments is the fact that different frocks and different occasions call for diferent foundation garments, especially in a day when ne two frocks have the same neckline, and it is quite impossible to make the same slip do for two frocks.
One's entire clothing, these days, may be composed of an extremely brief girdle, a brassiere, a slip and a frock, or the frock may have shots as a part of it, eliminating even the slip. Or the slip may have "panties" as a part of it-you simply have to lock them over and

A pretty idea is that of trimming the shoulders of an otherwise plain coat. There was a charming en- semble, the frock of which was of white and china blue silk marocain, and the coat in navy blue marocain lined with navy crepe.. The latter was straight and rather

Crepe de chine is the favourite fabric and crepe meteor is used. There are slips of pongee and the like, less expansive and, in a way more practical, but it is hard to be practical when one is really in the midst of the many models. Pink, white, sun-tan, eggshell and the pastels are the colours most in demand, and when lace is used it is mrely ever pure white, unless planned for wear with a white frock.
