The tanker "Irania"-the first ship to be powered with a Richardsons Westgarth oil engine has completed her maiden voyage, having made a non-stop ran from Con- statinople to Rouen. Full details of the working of the machinery are not yet available, but it is gratifying to be able to state that, since the vessel started on this round voyage from Holyhead, there has been no reason to stop on account of machinery, which has run at all speeds of revolutions highly satisfactorily, the manoeuvring being in all cases better than was ex- pected It is hoped to give details of the performance of the engine at an early date.
