Barnett and Mr. H. & Wilbur, was given under the aus pices of the National Committee of the Foreign Y.M.C.A. and the Chinese Y.M.C.A. in the National-building at No. 20, Museum-road, Shanghai. of friends were present to, wish "bon voyage" to the departing Y.M.C.A. officials, who sailed a few days ago for United States. (Ah Fong).

Assault Refuelling Flight Record-Manned by two pilots and a radio operator, the monoplane
"San Francisco," above, is being groomed for an attempt to better the refuelling endurance record
set at Foat Worth, Texas. James W. Warner, below, left, radio operator on the famous "Southern
Cross" flight across the Pacific, will act in the same capacity during the endurance fight, and Harry
Abbott, below, centre, will be one of the pilots. At the right are Donald A. Templeman, top, and
Grover Mitchell, below, who will man the "nurse" plane which will make contact with supplies of
food and fuel twice daily.
Leaves Marine Corps.-Major E. H Brainard, Dew Vice-President of the his Curtiss Flying Service reads honourable discharge us Chief of Avin- lion of the United States Marine Corps. His resignation of the branch of ser vice over which he was head since 1925, became effective immediately and he will join a private aviation concern.

Storm Ruins $300,000 Planes-A severe wind storm which swept two airports at Wichita,
Kansas, caused over $300,000 damages. The western air expresa, a tri-motored Fokker 'plane, is shown above entirely ruined as a result of the storm, and the damage to this one plane is estimated at
