ence.

The Committee, from June 8 to August 8, will stay at the Savoy Hotel as the guests of Government, and will disperse for the holidays in the middle of August until Septem- ber. The Committee will prepare for their report during October submission to the Viceroy, who will transmit to Parliament.

The Simon Commission's report will be submitted to the Crown in December It is expected that both reports will be published next January.

Toky; June 1. Fourth rank among the nations is per capita wealth and fifth in total national wealth is claimed for Japan in statistics recently published by the Government. The United States is of course, ranked first, with a total wealth of 752 billion yen and per capita rating of 6,600 yen. Japan's total riches are estimated at 102 billion yen, placing her behind America, Britain, France and Russia. This gives each Japaneer 1,732 yen. The Americans British and French are estimated to be richer, but the Germans, Italians and Russians poorer.

According to these statistics, the par capita wealth of Japan is seventeen times that of China. Associated
