ANNUAL ATHLETIC SPORTS MEETING

SOME CLOSE FINISHES

In spite of the inclement wea- ther, the fourth annual athletic- sports meeting of the Wah Yan 'College' was held yesterday after- noon on the South China ground at Caroline Hill, when a lengthy programme of 29 events was gone through.

The rain and the soft ground notwithstanding, there were some close finishes in the running events. The Inter-Class Tug-of- War had to be called off, however, owing to the state of the ground.

Misa Inez Gagnier skis for the love of the thrill of the sport. Her instructor. Ivind" Nelsen, engages in the sport professionally. Both, however, agree that the environs of Quebee are unexcelled anywhere in the world as a skiing or general apert playground. Besides tutoring the timid and giving periodic exhibitions of ski-daring, Nelsen, with his fellow professionals at the Chateau Frontenac, Messrs. Oliver Kaldahi and Arnold Stone, all of whom are internationally known, organise parties to such places as Montmorency Falls and other favourite skiing localities within a few miles of Quebec,
