THE TAIKOO VOLUNTEER CHALLENGE CUP
TEN COMPETITORS
The sixteenth competition for the Taikoo Volunteer Challenge Cup was held at the Talkoo Rifle Range on Sunday, when the fol- lowing practices
carried out:

1.--200 yards, deliberate, 4 ft. musketry target; 5 rounds.
2-200 yards, snapshooting, 22 inches snapshooting target; rounds.
3.-300 yards, snapshooting. 4 ft. musketry target: 5 rounds.
4-300 yards, rapid, 4 ft. mus ketry target; 10 rounds,
5--500 yards, deliberate, 6 ft. musketry target; 5 rounds.
The total "possible" number of points is 115.
There were ten competitors and after keen shooting Mr. D. McLennan (scratch) won with a
score of 100 points.

The Cup, which was presented by Mr. G. W. Swire, is a hand- sore one made of English silver and mounted on a blackwood stand, surrounded with small shields on which the winner's name is inscribed each year. The trophy has to be won three times before becoming the pro- perty of the winner, but each holder receives a miniature cup an exact replica in design of the original.
