The Gladiators argument is that. if the Fortuguese had not interfered, they would certainly have scored a goal, and, alterna- tively, that the, shot was too high and against all rules of street soccer which is different from Association soccer in that there are no cress-bars to the goals and consequently the ball has to be kept

low.

The referees stuck to their guns, however, and it is understood that the Gladiators will put in a pro- test to the officials of the league,

and also address the C.S.F. on the crying shame that no policeman. was detailed, for duty to keep in- truders from the playing ground in such an important match.

FINAL IN TRIANGULAR TOURNAMENT

NAVY BEAT CLUB

As was anticipated, a keen and hard fought game was witnessed on the Club ground yesterday, when the Navy defeated the Club by 19 points to 16, in one of the best "Rugger"

games seen this

season,

With a lead of 16 points to nil in the first half, the Club were defeated largely owing to a magni- ficent recovery of the Navy team. who showed excellent combination in the second half, and brought the score level within the last, five minutes of the game. Soon after a free kick was awarded to the Navy from which they scored and thus won the match.

WIN ARMY CUP AT ALDERSHOT

The 1st Battalion of the King's Own Scottish Borderers won the Army Cup this year at Aldershot. The finalists were the K.U.S.B. and the Warwickshire Regiment in a match played on Easter Monday. This is the first time that the Regiment has been successful in the Army Cup, although during the last six years they have figur ed three times in the finala. On two former occasions when the Regiment reached the finals, they were represented by the battalion which is in Hong Kong now and once by the 1st Battalion, who won the Cup in Aldershot this year. Congratulations!

D. seemed to be come rather lazy or nonchalant. He could have got to several of his opponent's chop shots had he bothered. It looked as if he knew that the match was his cousin's so why kill himself in useless chasing?
