The final. settlement of the long proposed Nicaragua canal looms eminent in the minds of close"

observers. By purchase, the United States has the exclusive right to bɩild the canal as shown on

the proposed route on the above map Senator Edge, right, has offered a resolution to the Senate

asking an appropriation of $150,000 for use in making a survey of routes. President Hoover's (above)

administration is expected to see some disposition of the matter.
