THE CHINA MAIL,
Well, apart from the fact that Goldman is out, owing to bila Aç» tivities in the Rugger world,” and- Everest has caught the eye of the selectors before Hudson, "there's not much wrong with this team on ordinary Hong Kong grounds and weather. Ip Pak-wa, the bril- ilant outside left of South China would certainly get his place, if any other inside left but Suen Kai-shun was selected, but since Suan is the acknowledged best in- alde left in the Colony, Club com bination has been considered, and Ip Pak-ws must wait his chance. With youth on his side, bar accidents this chance will
come.
Should the weather be wet I would prefer Caldicutt and Leach on the left wing, and Hudson, on the right half ́position and leave the rest of the team as it is, but we hope the weather will not be wet. The team as selected will
take a lot of beating in Heng Kong.
We hope very soon to have some news of the Shanghai Team, which is practically certain to contain Lee Wai-tong and other prominent North China players and we can confidently anticipate that local Clubs will temporarily be assisted by the visiting players in their. League matches. Leung Yuk-tong who came down with the Shang- hal Chinese Interport XI. did not return to Shanghai, and has ren- dered Yeoman service for the
Athletic ever since. and rumour has it that history may repeat it- self this season and prominent Shanghai amateurs may not return immediately after the Interport. In this respect Hong Kong will be fortunate as Shanghai possesses well many prominent players known locally, whom Hong Kong crowda will be pleased to welcome for an extended stay.
The rules provide, matches shall be of 90 minutes' duration, and if scores are equal game shall be seplayed.
The Portugal team will of course be all Recreia players, and in all probability the same team which defeated Scotland will line
