MEMORIAL UNVEILED BY THE
QUEEN
IMPRESSIVE SERVICE
London "To the glory of God
and in honour' of those brava men, I unveil this memorial on
behalf of those for whom they
dled."
With these words the Queen in mail week unvelled the memorial erected on Tower Hill in honour of these, members of the chant Navy and Fishing Fleets who lost their lives during the war, and whose only grave is the sea. Her brief speech, delivered in low tones, nevertheless reached the great crowd by means of loud speakers, and for the first time her voice was heard on the wire
less.
The scene during the unveiling ceremony was one of touching simplicity. The
stood crowds bareheaded in the drizzling rain. The Queen, accompanied by Princess Mary, mounted the dals dressed in a brown coat and hat, to match with a large bunch of! carnations pinned to the lapel of i her coat.
A prayer for the King was offered up by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Minister in at- tendance was Sir Philip Cunliffe- Llater, President of the Board of Trade.
