China Command Sports Board ár ranged a very interesting match at Sockumpoo yesterday.. There was quite a large crowd present to see South China in goal scor ing form but the 1st Batt. the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regiment, although considerably *slower, played good football up to a point. The teams were:-
1st Batt. Bedfs. & Herts.tum Throstle: Attenboro, Thompson; Mott, Wallis, Hughes; Cross, Berry, Conquest, Wiseman, Wrestle.
South China A.A.—Pau Ka~ ping; Chan So, Lau Kau; Leung Wing-tak, Pang Wa-hing, Leung Wing-chịu; Lai Tin choy, Pa Ka-chuen, Fung King-cheung, Lau Mau, Ip. Pak-wa.
Gee (the Army outside left) and Li Tin-sang (South China's full back) were the only ab sentees.
South China were much quick- er than the soldiers and Lau Mau and Fung King-cheung from a the penalty gave the visitors lead at half-time.
Despite many- likely raids by the Battalion team, the finishing was poor and Pau Ka-ping, in goal, dealt easily with many well directed shots.
Pau Ka-chuen added two goals for South China in' the second half, both being quite good efforts. Pang Wa-hing was in- jured in the face and retired.
Teams Compared
The Bedfordshire goalie, Mott, gave a good display. He has done good work in 'soccer in Shanghai.
The Battalion appeur to have a very useful side., Conquest, Wrestle and Cross were very useful at 'times,
