This league game was played on the Chatham-road ground, Kowloon, before a large crowd, and resulted in a surprise win for the Queen's by 8 goals to 2.
The Queen's kicked off, and after some midfield exchanges, play was transferred to the Queen's half, where the defence had a hard time in breaking up the Guards' determined attacks. The Queen's soon got going, how ever, and good combined play brought them into the vicinity of the Guards' goal. Thurlow had hard luck with a shot that just went wide.
The Queen's were the first to score, when Richardson headed in a beauty from a scramble in the goalmouth. This early reverse somewhat surprised the Guards, and from the kick-off they strove hard to get on level terms, but the Queen's defence was sound,
