It has already been previously reported that mines have been laid in the West River off the island known as Chicken Basket Island and an official notification from the Commissioner of Customs at Wu- chow has been posted at the Har-1 bour office.,

Masters of up-going, or in-coming steamers are warned that they must stop and communicate with the guard boat stationed in the vicinity which will provide safe pilotage through the danger zone.
