The master of the river steamer "Wing On" (Capt. Mutton) has re- ported to the Harbour Office his un-

successful attempt to tow off the Wucktw steamer s.s. "Wing Hung" (British flag) which had gono ashore on the left bank, some miles below Pakfutau.

Capt. Mutton reports that two at- tempts to tow off the stranded boat falled owing to the parting of ropes from the Wing Hung.”

The C.P.S., R.M.S. "Empress of Canada" (Capt. S. Robinson, C.B.E, 5. R.N.R.) leaves Manila on Decem- ber 8 at 4 p.m., and is due at Hong Kong on December 5 at 8 a. when she will berth at Pier No. 6 Kowloon Wharf. The steamer will leave here for Victoria and Vancouver, B.C., via Shanghai, Kobe and Yokohama, at 6 am. on December 7.
