OIL VESSEL PIRATED.

The "Taiping Shan," an oil cargo vessel of the A. P. C. fleet Is report- ed to have been captured by pirates in four rowing boats near Whang- moon on May 31 when going up- River to Wuchow.

Near Whampoa, a group of Can- tonese soldiers intervened. The pirates ran the vessel aground and decamped with their loot (compris ing the crew's own property) and the soldiers brought the Taiping Shan" back to, Wangmoon.
