"Talamba" on her voyage from Singapore to Hong Kong„with-a large number of deportees and deck passengers had a seque! at the Kowloon Magistracy yester- day" when one deportee was charged with murdering another. Outlining the case for the Crown, Mr. T. M., Hazlerigg pro- duced photographs to show the position of the 60 deportees who were in charge of ten Indian

guards, there being also about 1.000 deck passengers, He said that when four men were being i escorted across the deck to draw water, the defendant stabbed one of them several times. The
