The discovery in the Manifold Valley, Derbyshire, of an almost complete skull and part of a skole- ton of the lynx boreuliar a giant wild cat, extinct for

more than NAGASAKI, KODE & YOKOHAMA, 30,000 years, is reported by the Rev. G. H. Wilson, of Bakewell.

Writing to "The Daily Mail," Mr. | Wilson says:

PROPERTY SALES.

Bidding was brisk at the sale of one Kowloon, lot at the China Auction Rooms yesterday, but the remaining Kowloon, lot was knock- ed down to the only rise above opening price.

Lot consisted of Sub-section 2 of Section E of Inland Lot 1274, „together with the buildings thereon. known as 16 Sal Yuen Lane, held for a term of 999 years from 1855, with an area of 1,076 square feet and an annual Crown Rental of $8.78.

Opening at $12,000 with bids of $100 acceptable, the price steadily rose to $13,900, at "which sum the sale was concluded-in favour of Mr. Lo Yuk-chi.

Lot 2 consisted of the Remaining Portion of New Kowloon Inland Lot 367, with the buildings thereon. situated of Cheung Sha Wan, and held for a term of 75 years from 1888 at af annual Crown Rent of $114, and having air area of 24,750 aquarc feet.

The opening price was $20,000 with bids of $500 acceptable, and the only bid, made was one at this figure by Mrs. Ho Tuen-wan who became the new owner at $25,500,
