Moscow, March 24-Russia is developing an insatiable thirst for vodku. Although the Government within the last six months has mara than doubled the output, it has been unable to meet, the demands of the population for the national} drink..

According to figures announced | to-day, the Government will pro Juce 500,000,000 quarts of vodka during the coming year, which will yield the State about $250,000,000

in revenue, or 10 per cent. of the entire budget..

This is still about $80,000,000. less than the liquor receipts in the so-called "drunken budget of 1913, when vodka yielded the Govern- ment 20 per cent. of its entire budget.
