THE ANNUAL MEETING.
The commencement shortly of the building of a new church at Happy Valley was foreshadowed at the annual meeting of members of St. Peter's Church, which was held yesterday after matins.
The report of accounts which was made at the meeting showed donations amounting to $245 to the church fund. The church re- pair fund showed a debit balance amounting to $719, donations: amounting to $660 having been

EXCITING CHASE.

An exciting chase in the harbour was witnessed near the Wing Lok Street wharf on Saturday afternoon when detective Chaung Wai (C549) effected a plucky arrest of a Chin-- ese who is believed to be the third man in the armed robbery com- mited at No. 35, Connaught Road West on Wednesday.
The detective received severe bruises to his arms in climbing back to the wharf after he had placed the fugitive in a sampan.
The arrested man was later taken: to the Central Felice Station.
