Freddie, accompanied by his governess, was passing a street where a load of straw had been scattered in front of one of the houses where there had been a serious illness.
"Miss Manning, why did they scatter the straw about here?".
"Well, Freddie," she replied, "& Httle baby came to Mrs. Reed last night."
"My," said Freddie, "but it was well packed."
One busy day was punctuated by several returns to the Savoy Hotel, where he effected changes in dress for very succeeding engagement. During the day he wore at least six different turbans fof brilliant hues.
Luncheon With the King. After dressing for luncheon with the King he left the hotel wearing a dark overcont which half concealed a brilliant Sikh uniform. A lilac-coloured turbuni offset the famous peari and dia- mond ear-rings.
Before going to Wembley he changed into a dark suit and another turban. In the Indian building, in the section dealing with his own province, rugs were thrown at his feet which the erdinary visitor would not be per- mitted to touch.
Delicately he handied them, his face expressing the pleasure that he felt at their touch to people who could not understand his words,

The cheapest grouse in London were 22 25. a brace, and prices went up to 448. and £5 59. & brace, and even more, though 53 was an average price. -
