the year (February 1924-February 1985)

During the past year, there were quite a number of very successful social functions. A degree con cert in honour of the Rt. Hon. Sir Charles Ellot, Sir William Brunyate and Mr. W. W. Hornell was held on February 19, 1924 Presentation of some souvenirs from the undergraduates to Sir Wil Marsellies, London, Antwerp Hill Ham and Lady Brunyate took place at the end of the concert. There was a tea party on the afternoon of i October 10, which was very, wall | attended, in spite of the rain. Af by very successful concert, followed by a dance in the Great Hall, took place the same night. This was the first time that the Great Hall was open to dancing. On China New Year Eve, the Unlon gave a concert in Ellot Hall in honour of the medical delegates who were attending the Medical Conference then held in the University. The concert; though an impromptu one, was much enjoyed by all present. The dance in the Union, also given on the eve of China New Year, was a pronounced success.

At the conference in Cambridge, five commissions were going on at one and the same time. Mr. Ha Tung, being able to devote bis attention to only one commission at a time, spent most of his time in the Scholarship Commission and tried in vain to secure a portion of the British Boxer.
