Governments shall facilitate the exchange of in- formation tending to assist in the suppression of illicit traffic. The convention is not intended to apply to importation for medical purposes.

RESULTS TO DATE.

The upshot of today's proceedings is that China emerges unscathed, though the debate will be resumed to-morrow.

The final election at the Scottish combined Universities for three seats resulted in the return of Sir Henry Craik (Conservative), Mr. D. M. Cowan (Liberal) while a recount is being held to determine whether Sir George Berry (Conservative) has obtained the quota necessary for his return.

In the election. by proportional representation the Reverend Mr. J. M Munro (Labour) is at the bottom of the poll.
