OUR BOY SCOUTS,

The fist of, the milies for the trump competition for, the Prince of Wales' Banner was held at the Hongkong Volunteer Headquar ters on Saturday afternoon, 180 Scouts all told being off the parade ground.

The rain prevented some of the tests from being held and forced others to be carried out in the Headquarters building but it fafied to damp the ardour of the boys who showed much keenness and efficiency.

t

Before the rally an interést. ing ceremony, took place, the Com- missioner presenting warrants to | District Scoutmaster · White- and Mr. G. Tarrupt,. Scoutmaster of the 12th (Cental British School) troop.

*

The progammé opened with an inspection and at the conclusion it was announced that the 'Ist Troop had won 61 points out of a possible 66. The keenness of the competitions is shown by the fact that the difference between the, first and last troop on the whole of the compétition was only about 20 points,

The Commissiones, in thanking those present made special men. tion of Dr. Minnett: Who, had helped with the first aid.

Amongst those piesent. were Sir Claud Severn, the Hon. Mr. R. H. Kotewall, Mr. Young, Mr. and Mrs. Hancock, Mr. Melbourne, Røv, Copley Moyle... Rev Clouston Porri, Mr. Nightingale, Mrs.. Champkin and Mrs' White.
