The annual prize distribution of "the Italian Convent took place on Saturday, The Rev. Father G. Spada presided and the function was held in private..
Inter alia, the report "of the headmistress stated:-
Attendance. The average daily attendance was 473. The highest enrolment of 534 was in the month of March.
General Remarks. of the In- spector of English, Schools:The discipline is excellent, while the general improvement in reading is maintained. Arithmetic and Composition are good throughout. Drawing shows a great improve-" ment; colour work has been in- troduced with excellent results. Design in Classes 1 and 2 was especially good, the work giving evidence of considerahle originality and artistic ability, Singing has improved, and was very good indeed in Class 7.
University Successes:-During the year 13 pupils entered for the Senior Local Examination of the Hongkong University and all passed, one with Honours, Miss Kwok Yik Ming, (Distinction in English and History) while Miss Conchita del Pan obtained distinc- tion in Geography, and Miss Yeung Wai Lim in Drawing, For the Junior Local Examination 15 Pupils entered, and 14 passed; Miss Aurelia Geng with Distinction.in English Spanish and Biblical, Knowledge; Miss Elizabeth Thomas with Distinction in English
