John D. Prince, of Los Angeles, has shown that he can kill frogs and then restore them to life with a chemical prepamtion. The ex- periments are being continued and are arousing great interest among physicians, who believe Prince may possibly work out a drug that is better than adrenalia in defying death.

Dr. Frederick A. Cook, the Brooklyn (N. Y.) doctor, whose claim that he discovered the North Pole. was so thoroughly disproved by Admiral Perry, the real discoverer, has been sentenced to serve 14 years in a federal prison and to pay a fine of $12,000 for fraudulent

dealings in oil stock in Fort Worth, Texas. The trial judge flayed him in delivering the sentence. S. E. J. Cex, another promoter, whose hobby was aeroplane flying and who built a machine to compete in the James Gordon Bennett Cup races in France a few years ago, was sentenced to 8 years and to pay a fine of $8,000. Cox's wife startled the country a few years ago by calling an "aeroplane taxi" in Texas to

take her to New York on a shopping tour.

Prince Felix Youssoupoff and his wife, of the Russian nobility, are
