Rumour has been busy for same weeks past with a report that Dr. Sun Yat-sen had decided to seize the Chinese Maritime Customa in Canton, the revenues from which have hitherto boen paid to Peking. Several days ago the Diplomatic Body warned Dr. Sun that this step would be strongly opposed and on Tuesday marines are reported to have been landed under orders from the British and French Admirals and to have taken possession of the Customs House, fortifying it against possible attack.
