Stokes, multi-millionaire New York sportsman, victim of the "shooting show girls," is attempting to place upon her name, Mrs. Helen Elwood Stokes, former Denver belle, is shown here with Assistant State's Attorney Charles S. Wharton, of Chicago, who has summoned 22 persons in an inquiry into her charges that they have given falso affidavits that she was formerly an inmate of the notorious Everleigh Club. Mrs. Stokes, who won in her hus- band's divorce action in New York, charges perjury and conspiracy.
